Our charter is to responsibly develop and maintain advanced AI for the long-term benefit of humanity.

Anthropic is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), a designation that requires us to balance the financial interests of shareholders with the benefit to the broader public. Our Public Benefit Report takes stock of what we are doing to serve the public benefit, and of the work ahead.

Building advanced AI in a way that is safe, trustworthy, and aligned with our best interests isn’t a niche concern or a competitive differentiator. It is a necessary step toward making the benefits real. We’re already seeing what’s possible—in research labs, in classrooms, and in the everyday work of people solving hard problems. If we get this right, I believe that some of humanity’s greatest moments await us on the other side.
